Dr. Johnny GeorgeBESTPassed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on 5th March 2024. Aged 81.

Dearly loved husband of Lillian. Devoted father of David, Penelope, Kirsty and Alexander. Loved grandad, great grandad and brother.

Funeral service at St. Peter's Church, Anlaby on Wednesday 20th March at 12.30pm followed by interment at Tranby Lane Cemetery.

Dr Best was a well known member of the local community, the family would welcome all to join them to celebrate his life. No flowers please.

Fond memories of Dr Best. Many years ago I took my 7 year old daughter to the surgery where she confided in Dr Best that, much to her disagreement, she and her siblings were not allowed to eat chips as they were unhealthy. Clearly Dr Best sympathised with her plight and promptly wrote her a prescription for 1 portion of chips to be taken twice a week! We still laugh about it today and she’s now in her fifties. RIP Dr Best and enjoy some heavenly chips. Diane Burton and family

We were very sad to hear the news about Dr Johnny Best.
He was very good to our family and took great care of my Mum, Dad, myself and my brother as well as lots of memories from Anlaby Junior school. Thinking of you all.
