Barry James (Ex-Grimsby Telegraph)GREENOn 15th April 2024, after a long and courageous battle and with his loving family by his side, Barry aged 81 years, sadly passed away in the loving care of St Andrew's Hospice, Grimsby.
Beloved husband of Sue; much-loved dad to Kristopher and father-in-law to Scott; father to Karl (from previous marriage); loving grandfather to Luke and proud great-grandfather to Isla; caring son-in-law to Pat; loving brother-in-law to Diane, Leigh, Kerry, James, Richard and Hayley; uncle to his nieces and nephews; and good friend to many. Barry will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Service will be held at Grimsby Crematorium on Thursday 2nd May 2024 at noon.
Barry is resting peacefully at Mashfords Funeral Home, Norfolk Lane, Cleethorpes, DN35 8BB where family flowers only (please) will be received. Donations in lieu, if so desired, may be sent to St Andrew's Hospice, Peaks Lane Grimsby DN32 9RP.

I knew Barry in the 1960's when both of us worked at the Telegraph - he was a reporter and I worked in the advertising department. A group of us enjoyed quite a few beers together and an odd game of snooker at the sports club. A good story writer. Rest in peace. From Steve Keal
